Hey guys, I’m doing my research on potentialy buying a video game.
What are the best driving / racing games out there ? How about games to pilot fighter jets?
I’m looking for games recommendations to see if pç / PS4 / Xbox would make a difference based on games.
Tks

War Thunder is supposed to be a decent flight sim, although not completely realistic....then again I’ve not played it much nor in a long time. There is ground combat and I think naval combat as well?

For flight Sims you have to go PC. The want for racing games eliminates the PS4 as it still doesn’t have any decent Sims yet.

Really depends on what you want out of it. Hard to play sim? Or arcady and fuck all realism?
Personally, i found Burnout paradais to be one of the best racing games of all time, period. The crashes, the adrenaline, the fact that its the one game you can shamelessly listen to avril lavinges ‘girlfriend’ to. It just works

+1 for Burnout Paradise. Fantastic game if you can get past the ridiculously poor menu system.

DCS World has ultra-realistic fighter jets. Right now they have the F-5, Mig-21, Mirage 2000, A-10C, Mig-15 and F-86, and a couple WW2 fighters. All of those jets have fully modeled systems and every button and switch in the cockpit is functional. The only catch is that each must be purchased separately. And two theaters, the Caucusus Mountains and The Nevada Training range. They also have several modern jets with simplified avionics. F-15, Mig 29, and SU-25/27/30/33. I just bought the F-5 and have been having a blast in VR.
They also have a bunch of planes coming out within the next year or so, the Saab Viggen should be out in the next couple weeks, and the F-14 (with both front and rear seats functional) and F/A-18 will likely be out towards the end of 2017.
Also you can download it and play with the SU-25 for free.

Even through its five years old now, Forza 4 will always hold a special place in my heart. In my opinion, it’s the best racing/driving game ever made. There’s just something about it that draws me back for more.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Or you could go all retro and get Colin McRae Rally 2 on the original playstation. Sure, the graphics are dated but it’s still a lot of fun decades after it first came out.

Best flying games you say?
(Disclaimer: This is just a fanmade trailer for a hypothetical PS4 re-release, all of these games are for the PS2/a PS2 emulator.)

Oh, also check out Falcon BMS. It’s a high-fidelity F-16 sim based on Falcon 4.0, released way back in 1998. It’s been thoroughly re-done and now looks absolutely amazing. It features a dynamic campaign, where the computer simulates a second Korean War and generates missions for you based on what’s happening in the conflict.
It’s also totally free, you just need to find a copy of the original Falcon 4.0 exe.

Part of my takeaways from this research, at oppo but also elsewhere, is that if I want realistic simulations or niche experiences (such as particular planes) I have to go PÇ; however, if I just want to have some fun involving cars, it seems a PS4 could be an option. Makes sense?
